I have been here but not real active on my blog. Got a pleasant surprise when I saw Remo Nieto, my nephew, the star on a TV show this morning. Apparently he and the DIY network got hooked up together and he was teaching one of his new employees the fundamentals of working with stone and tiles in the kitchen. He did a very good job. Way to go Remo!
Not much going on here. I am feeling fairly well although it has been a boring summer. The HEAT has been positively oppressive. Today it is 117 degrees but this is supposed to be the peak. From now on it should be going down till we are back to seasonable temperatures which means the low 100’s. It is amazing how comfortable that loss of 10 degrees is.
With Maddi off in Spain and Chris off on the Chesapeake some place, it has been very queit out here. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer retreats. I look forward to stories and photos of these trips.
I wish I had a few late owl friends who wanted to go out late at night. With the heat so high I have found myself going out on the patio at late night hours, 1 and 2 AM to enjoy the quiet and the cool air. Anything less than about 98 feels really good at that hour and if I had someone else out at that hour I would even try to swim a bit.
Eating has been a problem in this heat. Nothing seems appetizing. It’s not that the food I am served is not appetizing, I just don’t need anything hot right now. Cold food is definitely preferred to hot food so I find myself eating the meals that Kenny provides after they have had a chance to cool in the refrigerator. Tonight I am having tuna fish salad. That really sounds good for some reason. I have more to say but I seem to have a bit of writers block so I will get back to this later in the day.

Sorry to hear about Charlie. It sounds like you’ll find one or more replacements. I can’t believe how hot it is there. We think 98 is hot!
